WE BEGAN OUR STORY
The story of our journey
Indus Papers is India’s first homegrown paper backdrops brand. Founded by Archisman Misra, it is a subsidiary brand of Studiobackdrops.com - India’s largest online destination for photo, video, and audio products. Our first launch was in May 2023, when we introduced our premium range of paper backdrops in India. For the first time in 60 years, an Indian brand has launched a seamless paper backdrops range. And we are proud to say, it is the biggest range of colours available anywhere in the market. Our first launch was with 67 colours and 17 of them were never before seen colours. This was a risky move but our plan was to change the market forever. And we did.
Indus Papers with its smooth, coated finish and 185gsm quickly became a bestselling product on Studiobackdrops.com. After this success, we have worked with multiple distributors across India to create a dealer network. Starting off with limited colour and quantities, dealers all over India now store all of Indus Papers colours for anyone looking to get their hands on the most affordable paper backdrop.
When we launched Indus Papers, we only had the 9ft paper backdrop available. But our customers showed us so much love, we quickly launched other sizes. Including 12 ft wide paper backdrops in 17 shades. These shades are not available with anyone else either!
And just 6 months later, we decided to take it up a notch. We decided to bring an even more affordable range to the market. This paper backdrop would be lighter, pulp-dyed and 145gsm. It is the most affordable paper backdrop ever. IndusLite was launched in February 2024, not even a whole year after Indus Papers itself.
We started with just 20 colours in IndusLite and just like before, they quickly became the top selling products on Studiobackdrops.com. This time we introduced 4 sizes from the get go instead of waiting. Every size has sold out once or twice and we’ve had to restock as quickly as we can to keep our customers happy.
We have more exciting news to share with you in 2025. We are now expanding our IndusLite range from 20 colours to 40! In March 2025, we are launching 20 brand new colours in our IndusLite range. And we still have a lot more planned. Do you want to be a part of our journey? Keep in touch with us!
